Her dedication to her music can be clearly felt in this recording. She plays the early Chopin Variations with great grace and sensitivity, as well as the Ländler, in which lightness and dance-like verve are beautifully accentuated.
Aude St-Pierre presents these works with fine delicacy, one could almost say with modesty – just as the composer probably felt herself with these first works.
The interpreter underpins her versatility in the F minor Sonata – a late work, a different tonal language.
Aude St-Pierre impresses with her expressive play of colors, strong presence and dynamic variety. We can already look forward to further recordings by Aude St-Pierre with music by Maria Herz.

- Radio Klassik Stephansdom, CD of the week
Aude St-Pierre plays devotedly with a multi-layered, introspective sound. Maria Herz's music is thoughtful, searching, without superficial virtuosity, completely pure - and that is precisely what makes it so convincing.
